2004-6, Pangaea Renaissance's Mr.
Bruce Bouchard also served as adviser
to UN Habitat on a major, new UN General Assembly-mandated slum upgrade
initiative that is seeking to attract private capital into infrastructure and
superstructure facilities to serve the urban poor. Pangaea’s role was one of developing an appropriate financial structure
that will be acceptable to the various stakeholders and determining how the private
sector can play an implementation role.
Pangaea Renaissance
has been working on the development of a variety of new
products to bring to the market, including:
Ř Property-related investment vehicles;
Ř Infrastructure
bonds; and
Ř Mortgage-backed securities resulting from the mortgage financing initiative mentioned above.
Pangaea Renaissance has been involved in a number of property related transactions in Zambia, in a number of different capacities. It has taken a financial advisory role for Farmers House and also assisted the public company raise capital through various financial instruments. Assisted Zambian Breweries rehabilitate and dispose of a property on Malambo Road. During the implementation stages of Arcades Shopping Centre, Pangaea/EMI was pivotal in raising essential pre-construction capital for the centre and providing advisory services. In 2006, the Company was part of a team that developed a new corporate head office for a Zambian blue chip company.
